Gengo Review

What is Gengo?

Gengo ReviewGengo.com is a translation service business that works with a network of over 10,000 translators who translate text into a number of languages from around the world.

Gengo was founded in 2008 and was originally based in Tokyo and now have offices around the world.

Gengo is derived from the Japanese word for “language”.

Their translators work from home and provide text translations for over 35 languages. And some of Gengo’s biggest clients include The Huffington Post, Etsy and Trip Advisor.

How Does Gengo Work?

First, you upload text or a file to the Gengo servers.

Then a qualified translator will begin translating, almost immediately.

When the text translation is complete, the document is approved or a revision is requested.

Finally, the document is signed off and the translator gets paid.

Let’s take a look at the Gengo review video…

How to Make Money as a Translator with Gengo

First, you Sign-Up with Gengo to create a free account.

Then you’ll need to complete the Gengo Test which is reviewed by a Senior Translator.

Passing the Gengo Test

Before you begin the test it’s important to familiarize yourself with the Gengo Style Guide.

Gengo, uses the concept of Major and Minor Errors and if you’re applying for a Standard Translator position then you can only make 3 MINOR mistakes during the test.

Your test results will be processed within 7 days of submission and you can have 3 attempts to pass the test.

All decisions are final, so there is no dispute process.

Tip: If you have technical difficulties during the test, you must raise a support ticket if you want to redo that test.

Finally, if you’re successful with Gengo you can begin Translation Jobs right away.

Gengo offers payment through PayPal, so it’s important you can set up a PayPal account in your country before you get started.

Payments are processed twice monthly.
